Last night I hosted my book club at my house. We read "The Kite Runner" by Khalid Hosseini. It's about the relationship between two boys growing up in Afghanistan, among other things. It was gripping, horrifying, thought-provoking, edifying. A very good book.
Each of our book clubs is a potluck, so I made chocolate mousse. There's a great recipe on Epicurious that I use a lot. It's easy and people love it.
Other than that, not much going on today. Baby is very active, though!

Jennifer in SC says: Our book club just read "Stiff." It's about what happens to you after death. I recommend it for EVERYONE though if you have a hard time reading about death and decomposition, you might find it rough going. It spurred a great club discussion on our thoughts about death and preparations for it. One woman's dad had just died last year and interestingly she was one of the most vocal during the conversation -- she LOVED the book. Our book club is co-ed and we don't meet monthly, just approximately 10x a year. We all bring suggestions and decide as a group what to read. I love it.
